“Signals From The West” is an ongoing body of work revolving around the metamorphosis of images and narratives

from antiquated forms of transmissions and signals. A time itself antiquated, these original broadcasts containing

images of old western films and television shows, move further away, as the exponential growth of technology

and the way we receive and transcribe images moves forward.

The transformation of these images has coerced me to explore more deeply, the ideas of technology becoming

self aware. These bygone signals, passed through the atmosphere, traveling through space and time, have

learned to rewrite its basic code, at times presenting a skewed narrative, as well as images that can be beautiful

as well as frightening. Signals perhaps received by another form of intelligence that must interpret its meanings,

just as civilization now, must decipher the influx of data we are bombarded by.
